Are you Halloween ready?

Advanced Theatrical
October 7th-10th, 2019

October is a profitable time for makeup artists, and knowledge of theatrical makeup is a must. With our Advanced Theatrical course, you can elevate your skills for a more successful Halloween season! Students will learn advanced, professional techniques in the application of pre-made prosthetics and bald caps, as well as the correct technique for laying facial hair and use of moldable spfx products.
This Advanced Course is open to the public. Theatrical A/B is not a prerequisite.

Students should bring their basic makeup kit—all theatrical and spfx supplies will be provided.

CARL RAY WORKSHOP
JUNE 10, 10AM-4PM

Carl+Ray+Workshop+Make+Up+First

Renowned celebrity makeup artist, Carl Ray, joins Make Up First to demonstrate his unique artistic approach to enhancing natural beauty.

Carl has been in the beauty industry for over 18 years, and since 2009, has served as the official makeup artist for former First Lady Michelle Obama. His experience includes a long roster of notable clientele, including Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Kerri Washington, Gabriel Union, Julia Child, Sir Paul McCartney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Morgan Freeman, Lin - Manuel Miranda, Hugh Jackman, former President Bill Clinton, and former President Barack Obama.

Options available for both demo-only and full day, hands-on portions. Limited space is available for the full day option.


INTENSIVE HAIRSTYLING FOR MAKEUP ARTISTS
JUNE 11-13, 10AM-2PM

Make Up First Workshop Intensive Hairstyling for Makeup Artists

In this 3-day intensive hairstyling workshop, instructors will focus on the use of multiple hairstyling tools, as well as braiding, backcombing, up-do’s, down do’s and the art of pin curling.

This course can be used as 12 hours towards Continuing Education. Make Up First® is an approved sponsor under the IL Barber Act. 


ADVANCED THEATRICAL
JUNE 10-13, 10AM-4PM

Students will learn advanced techniques in application of pre-made prosthetics, bald caps; correct technique for laying facial hair and use of spfx products will be taught. Students are asked to bring your basic makeup kit, all theatrical and spfx supplies will be provided.

This course can be used as 16 hours towards Continuing Education. Make Up First® is an approved sponsor under the IL Barber Act.
